I want to Know more about adopting.
Once you send an initial inquiry, you will be email you a link to our adoption application. You must complete this application to be considered for adoption.
Is the dog I'm interested in still available? Yes, all dogs listed on our website are still available for adoption until they are placed on hold. A dog is typically placed on hold once a potential adopter has been approved and a trial period is about to begin.
Our adoption fees are as follows:
Puppies up to 2 years: $750
Dogs 2 to 4 years: $700
Dogs 4 to 8 years: $650
Dogs 8 to 10 years: $500
Dogs 10 years and above: $450
All dogs adopted from Dusty Paws Dog Rescue will be desexed (or under desexing contract), vaccinated (we will cover all puppy vaccinations), microchipped, flea, and worm treated, microchip transfer and registration.
Yes, every adoption includes a 2-week trial period. We require that you work with us during this time to help the dog adjust to its new environment. It can take up to two weeks for a dog to settle in and show its true personality.
If the trial is successful, we will email you all the necessary paperwork, and the dog will be officially transferred into your name.
In the event that you are no longer able to care for the dog, we ask that you give Dusty Paws Dog Rescue first preference to take the dog back into our care. We will do our best to find them another suitable home, provided we have care availability at that time.
If your veterinarian recommends delaying the desexing procedure beyond 6 months of age, you will be responsible for the full cost. Dusty Paws Dog Rescue will only reimburse you for the desexing fee as outlined in your adoption contract, once the procedure is complete.
To be eligible for reimbursement, you must provide us with a desexing certificate, a receipt of the procedure, and an exemption letter from your veterinarian explaining the medical reason for the delay. You will also need to provide your banking details.
Please be aware that our desexing contract is designed to ensure compliance with Dogs and Cats Online regulations, which require dogs to be desexed by 6 months of age. As such, any costs incurred from delaying the procedure are your responsibility, and we will only reimburse the amount specified in the original desexing contract. We do not cover additional costs associated with a higher-rate procedure due to a delay.
Yes, Dusty Paws Dog Rescue reserves the right to reject an application if we feel the dog is not a suitable match for the situation or family. Our priority is to ensure the best possible outcome for our dogs.
